Contact TB Tree Care

We are based at Shirebrook in Derbyshire, between Mansfield and Bolsover, and work across Nottinghamshire and north-east Derbyshire. Call 07949 268926 to talk to us directly, or send the form and we will come back the same working day.

For storm damage, a fallen tree, or anything posing an immediate risk, please ring rather than email. We answer out of hours and can usually be on site within a few hours.

Tell us your postcode, roughly what needs doing, and how urgent it is. Photographs help enormously — for a lot of jobs we can price accurately without needing to visit at all.

No obligation. We usually call back the same day.

How can we help?

Whether it is a single overgrown conifer, a hedge that has got away from you, a storm-damaged tree that needs making safe today, or a grounds maintenance contract for a whole site — the starting point is the same. Tell us roughly what you have got and where, and we will come back the same working day with a price and an honest view of whether the work is worth doing.

How to reach us

  • Phone — 07949 268926

The fastest way to get an answer, and the only way to reach us for an emergency. We answer out of hours for genuine hazards: storm damage, a tree down across a drive or road, a limb hanging over a footway. If we cannot answer immediately we ring back.

  • Email — hello@tbtreecare.co.uk

Best for non-urgent enquiries, quotes with photographs attached, and anything commercial. Attach pictures of the tree or hedge from two or three angles and include something for scale — a person, a wheelie bin, a doorway — and we can usually price it without a visit.

  • Where we are

Shirebrook, Derbyshire, postcode district NG20 — on the Derbyshire side of the border, midway between Mansfield and Bolsover. It is a working yard rather than a shop, so please ring before coming out rather than turning up.

What happens after you get in touch

No sales visit, no pressure, and no charge for any of it. Here is the whole process.

  • 1. We come back the same working day

Usually within a few hours. For straightforward work — a hedge cut, a stump, a single tree in an accessible garden — a couple of photographs and rough measurements are often enough for a firm price without anyone visiting.

  • 2. We check the paperwork before quoting

We search the correct council TPO register against your address and check conservation area status, at no charge. Getting the wrong authority means a notice is not valid, and unauthorised work on a protected tree is a criminal offence carrying an unlimited fine. Where consent is needed we make the application and wait for the determination.

  • 3. You get a written quote, itemised

What we will do, what it costs, what is included, and how the waste is dealt with. Fixed price, no hidden extras, no charge for the quote and no obligation. If we think the work is not worth doing, or a cheaper approach would serve you better, we will say so.

  • 4. We turn up when we said we would

Site protected before we start, arisings chipped and cleared as we go, paths and drives swept before we leave. Certificates of insurance and qualification are available on request, and RAMS documentation is issued as standard for commercial and contract work.

When you can reach us

We answer the phone seven days a week, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. If we cannot pick up because we are up a tree, we ring back.

For anything urgent, ring rather than use the form — a form goes to an inbox and a phone goes to a person. Urgent means a tree or limb presenting an immediate danger to people, vehicles or a building: storm damage, a windthrown tree, a failed limb hanging over a drive or footway, or a tree blocking access.

A tree that has been leaning for three years is not an emergency, and we would far rather book that in properly than charge you out-of-hours rates for it. If you are not sure which yours is, ring and describe it — we will tell you honestly.

Getting in touch — FAQs

  • Is the quote really free?

Yes, and there is no call-out charge anywhere we cover. Quoting is free whether or not you go ahead, and that includes the TPO register search and conservation area check we run against your address before pricing the work.

  • Do you need to visit before quoting?

Often not. For hedge cutting, stump grinding and straightforward tree work, two or three photographs from different angles plus rough measurements are usually enough for a firm price. Larger removals, anything near a building or a boundary, and all commercial work do warrant a visit — which is still free.

  • How quickly will you get back to me?

Most enquiries are answered the same working day, usually within a few hours, and we pick up messages seven days a week. Emergencies are the exception to the form entirely — ring rather than email and we answer at any hour.

  • What counts as an emergency?

A tree or limb presenting immediate danger: storm damage, a windthrown tree, a failed limb over a drive, footway or building, or a tree blocking access. Ring 07949 268926 at any hour. If it is not urgent we will tell you honestly and book it in normally rather than charging emergency rates.

  • Where are you actually based?

Shirebrook, Derbyshire, postcode district NG20, between Mansfield and Bolsover. Mansfield, Chesterfield, Worksop and the Amber Valley towns are all within about half an hour, and Nottingham, Newark and Retford within about forty minutes. See areas we cover for the detail.

  • Can I visit your yard?

Please ring first. It is a working yard rather than a shop or an office, so there is not always someone there, and quotes are done at your property rather than ours in any case.

  • Do you take on commercial and contract work?

Yes — grounds maintenance contracts, site clearance ahead of development, BS5837 surveys for planning applications and scheduled inspections for schools, care homes, housing associations and commercial landlords. Fixed annual pricing, RAMS issued before attendance, £5 million public liability and 30-day invoice terms. Email is usually the easiest starting point for these.

  • Are you insured, and can I see the certificates?

Yes to both. We carry £5 million public liability insurance and full employer's liability cover, and our operatives are NPTC-certified. Certificates are available on request before any work starts, and we would encourage you to ask us — and to ask anyone else you are considering.
